Switch Creation

Switch types are edited using the Switch Types Window. To open the Switch Types Window, select a switch in the Levels Window and click the Edit button next to the Switch Type pop-up menu in the floating Inspector Window. (It is also possible to open the Switch Types window by double-clicking on a switch; be sure the Double-Clicking on Object Opens Editor checkbox is checked in the Preferences Window.) For more information on selecting objects and using the Inspector Window, see the Level Object Manipulation section.

The Switch Types Window is divided into two tabs: Animation Sequences, and Sound Collections. The left side of the Switch Types Window contains controls for selecting, creating, and deleting switch types. (See the Object Type Management part of the Common Production Tasks section for more information on the use of these kinds of controls.)

More information on switches is available in the Switches part of the Elements of a Game section.

Editing Switch Animation Sequences

Each switch type has four animation sequences, each of which may consist of any number of frames. Switch animation sequences are edited within the Animation Sequences tab of the Switch Types Window.

Editing Switch Sound Collections

Each switch type has two sound collections, containing sounds that are played when the switch is turned on and off. These sounds are edited within the Sound Collections tab of the Switch Types Window.
